TASTING THE SWEETNESS OF WORSHIP

This weekly Majlis includes a recitation of the prophetic biography in poetry form followed by a counsel intended to connect the listener to the Prophet ﷺ and his teachings. The more we know about his life, character, and way, the more we will come to love and follow the one beloved to Allah.

Imam al-Ghazali says in his book Iḥyā’ ‘Ulūm al-Dīn:

"The honor and excellence of man, in which he surpasses all other sorts of creatures, lie in his aptitude for knowing Allah, praise be to Him. This knowledge is man's beauty, perfection, glory, and his provision for the world to come. He is prepared for this knowledge only through his heart, not by means of any of his other faculties. It is the heart that knows Allah, it is the heart that draws near to Allah, it is the heart that truly strives toward Allah, it is the heart that in reality draws near to Him, and it is the heart that experiences unveilings from the presence of Allah."
