The Introductory Arabic Reading and Writing Program is designed for beginners who have little or no prior knowledge of Arabic. During the span of seven weeks, students will learn how to read and write successfully in the Arabic language.

In this course students will learn to:
Recognize and distinguish the letters of the Arabic alphabet;
Pronounce each letter correctly;
Write the letters, in their isolated, medial and final forms;
Read basic words, phrases and sentences smoothly.
The above will provide the student with the necessary foundation to further study the Arabic language.
Course Material
Course materials include “Reading Steps” (compiled by Al-Maqasid faculty). All necessary course materials will be provided upon registration.
Requirements
Besides the desire to learn, no other requirements are necessary.
Program Structure
Classes will be held online only for seven weeks. There will be two one-hour sessions per week for a total of sixteen sessions. Students are expected to attend each class live, as each lesson builds on the previous.
Fees
$350 (which includes textbook)
Deadline to apply
June 1st, 2024. This course is a prerequisite for Year 1 of the Seminary unless a student passes the placement test.
