MEDIA HIGHLIGHTS

In a world of constant change, the teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ remain timeless. By grounding ourselves in his prophetic guidance, we can navigate life's challenges with clarity and purpose.

Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah often.

(Quran 33:21)

LOVING THE BELOVED ﷺ

This weekly Majlis includes a recitation of the prophetic biography in poetry form followed by a counsel intended to connect the listener to the Prophet ﷺ and his teachings. The more we know about his life, character, and way, the more we will come to love and follow the one beloved to Allah.

Healing the Heart - Amjad Tarsin

“O mankind, there has come to you a reminder from your Lord, a healing for what is in the hearts…” (Qur'an 10:57). In a world filled with trials and distractions, these gatherings of dhikr are sanctuaries of spiritual healing, guiding us to reconnect with the Prophet ﷺ, the embodiment of divine mercy.

“Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.” When we gather to remember Allah, we open our hearts to transformative peace, escaping the pulls of dunya and Shaytan. This connection fills our lives with purpose, offering healing and strengthening our bond with the divine source of comfort.

Consistent Remembrance - Yusuf Weltch

In the same way that nourishing our bodies requires regular attention to diet, nourishing our souls requires consistent spiritual effort. Just as a single healthy meal cannot compensate for days of neglect, remembering Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ) only once a week does not fulfill the heart's need for regular connection.

The Quran emphasizes the importance of continuous remembrance:

"And establish prayer for My remembrance" (Quran 20:14). This verse reminds us that prayer, a consistent form of dhikr (remembrance), is central to our lives, anchoring us to Allah daily.

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) also emphasized consistency in worship, saying: "The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are done consistently, even if they are small" (Sahih Bukhari).

Just as we are mindful of daily habits that benefit our physical health, incorporating small, consistent acts of worship nourishes and strengthens our connection to Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ). This daily commitment gradually fills the heart with light and keeps us aligned with the prophetic example throughout our lives.

The Essence of Our Creation: Knowing Allah - Alaudeen Us'Sutteri

In the grand tapestry of existence, Allah created us with the purpose of knowing Him. This profound relationship is at the core of our creation, as emphasized in the Qur'an:

“And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” (Qur'an 51:56)

We must seek a deeper understanding of our Creator. Allah desires that we engage with Him, cultivate a connection, and recognize His presence in our lives.

As we navigate our daily lives, it is essential to remember that “Not a single breath that we take is without the will of Allah.” Each breath signifies His mercy and control, guiding us through challenges and blessings alike.

“The greatest jihad is to battle your own soul, and to defeat it.” (Sahih al-Bukhari) This hadith encourages us to strive against our own inclinations and desires, leading us toward a closer relationship with Allah. By acknowledging His will in every breath, we surrender our hearts to His guidance, fostering an unwavering faith and devotion.

Exemplifying Forgiveness - Hasan Petrus

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the pinnacle of loyalty and mercy, embodying these qualities even toward those who opposed and harmed him. His loyalty extended to both his companions and those who stood against him, demonstrating unparalleled patience, forgiveness, and mercy. These virtues are illustrated in the Quran and Hadith, guiding us to respond to hardship and hostility with grace and compassion.

Good and evil cannot be equal. Respond ˹to evil˺ with what is best, then the one you are in a feud with will be like a close friend. (Quran 41:34)

Becoming Beloved to Allah: Rejecting the Celebrity Culture - Yahya Rhodus

“This is a part of human nature to want to be loved and to want to be recognized. And in and of itself it’s not a bad thing. But who do we want to be known by? Who do we want to be loved by? That really is the question.”

Yahya Rhodus begins his khutba discussing today’s celebrity culture, its dangers, and especially how it distracts us from seeking Allah’s love.

Yahya also explains what it means to be beloved to Allah, and he provides practical advice on how to obtain Allah’s love.
