Upcoming programs

reading of Sahih al-Bukhari

Sahih al-Bukhari is the most authentic book after the Quran, compiled by the renowned Hadith scholar Imam Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Bukhari. It is one of the six canonical Hadith collections.

We are excited to announce a complete reading of Sahih al-Bukhari at Al-Maqasid from August 20 to 30.

Participants will complete the reading with our beloved teacher Shaykh Samer Al-Nass, a renowned scholar from Damascus, Syria. Those who finish will receive an ijaza from Shaykh Samer, connecting them to the Prophet's ﷺ teachings with a valid chain of transmission through Imam al-Bukhari.

This is a rare opportunity to get the reward of reading the entire collection of Hadith in Sahih Bukhari. We look forward to seeing you there InshAllah.

LOVING THE BELOVED ﷺ

This weekly Majlis includes a recitation of the prophetic biography in poetry form followed by a counsel intended to connect the listener to the Prophet ﷺ and his teachings. The more we know about his life, character, and way, the more we will come to love and follow the one beloved to Allah.

Following in the footsteps of the Prophet ﷺ - Yahya Rhodus

"Hold fast to my Sunna and the Sunna of the Rightly Guided Caliphs. Bite onto it with your molar teeth." (Sunan Abi Dawud)

As Muslims, we are entrusted with the responsibility of preserving and embodying the teachings of the Prophet ﷺ in our daily lives. This means not only practicing what he taught but also protecting and transmitting his teachings to future generations. The Prophet's life is the ultimate example of how to live in accordance with the will of Allah.

Gatherings of Healing - Amjad Tarsin

"One of the greatest things we need to hold on to, reflect upon, embody, and convey to others is the preservation of that which is sacred."

Allah ﷻ says in the Quran: 'And whoever honors the sacred ordinances of Allah, it is best for him in the sight of his Lord' (Sura Al-Hajj, 22:30)

Sincerely Seeking Allah - Iman Rasul Saluki

“Al-Maqasid is like and oasis for a lot of us who don’t live in the area. Just like someone who’s thirsty and they find an oasis and you know where it’s at so when you’re traveling you always make your way there.”

The Blessings of Community - Quran Hodge | Seminary Alumni

"There are many things going on around the world where communities are being stripped. Even though we’re with each other, we may be on our phones, so we are with each other, yet we’re not with each other."

And hold firmly to the rope of Allah and do not be divided. Remember Allah’s favor upon you when you were enemies, then He united your hearts, so you—by His grace—became brothers. And you were at the brink of a fiery pit and He saved you from it. This is how Allah makes His revelations clear to you, so that you may be ˹rightly˺ guided. (Āli-ʿImrān, Ayah 103)

Salvation Through Stories of the Prophets and Messengers - AMJAD TARSIN

“We know the promise of Allah is true. He will purify The Holy Land, and He will choose people to be His martyrs.”

We live in a time where morality, human dignity, and belief in Allah Ta’ala is under attack, and there is brazen disrespect for the Prophets and Messengers, peace be upon them.

In this khutba, Amjad Tarsin explains why loving and internalizing the stories of the Prophets and Messengers is salvation in every time and every place and that these stories teach us how to navigate through difficult times.
